CADP holds DPDP workshop for the leadership of KLE Degree College, Nagarabhavi

On 19 September 2026, CADP conducted a workshop at KLE Degree College, Nagarabhavi, titled Handling Personal Data Under India's New Data Protection Law. The participants included the college's decision-makers, the people who will put compliance into practice: principals, the coordinators of the BCA, BBA and B.Com programmes, the office superintendent and the placement officers. The programme followed a student's data through the college year: collection and consent on admission day, use and sharing during the term, correction and deletion requests, and what to do when something goes wrong.

Dr. Manoj and Ms. Sahana opened the day, and Ms. Sahana went on to lead the sessions on admission and on requests and retention. Mr. Shambhunath Yadiyapur set out six questions to ask before handling any student's data, and he and Mr. Ashwary Sharma led the sessions on sharing data with vendors and on breach response. Participants answered an anonymous check at the start and end of the day.

Participants who gave feedback rated the workshop 4.67 out of 5, and every one of them asked for further training. Confidence rose most on sharing data with vendors and cloud services and on responding to a breach.

Vendors also topped the list of what participants want to learn next. That matters for this group in particular, because they are the ones who sign up the admissions portals, fee platforms and messaging tools.
